Dr. Chris Brummer is currently a research professor in the Agnes N. Williams law field. He is also the director of the Georgetown International Economic Law Institute’s faculty.
He has lectured at several leading educational centers as a visiting and permanent lecturer.
Between 2006 and 2009, he was a part of the Vanderbilt School of Law’s management team. He was employed as an assistant professor in the law school. Between the three years, Chris Brummer also worked as an academic advisor in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s International Affairs department.
Between 2004 and 2006, Dr. Brummer worked as a private attorney in London and New York.
Dr. Brummer has worked hard to create the Fintech Beat podcast and newsletter. He is dedicated to informing the general public about technology, international law, and finance issues. He is the author of four books touching on fintech and global financial regulation issues.
In 2016 and 2019, President Obama nominated Dr. Brummer to serve as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission commissioner. From 2010 to four consecutive years, he worked with Nasdaq delisting panels.
Between October 2020 and January 2021, Dr. Chris was a Biden-Harris Presidential Transition Team member. As a member of the team, he was focused on financial issues.
Dr. Chris Bummer’s skills were developed at Columbia University School of Law, where he achieved his J.D. He received his Ph.D. in Germanic Studies from the University of Chicago.
